interview with @brickandmortarlego

I’m Matt, from the east coast of the UK.

My account in 3 words? Fun, happy and welcoming.
I had a personal account which wasn’t very interactive when it came to my Lego posts, so I hoped to find some like minded people, turns out I found loads!

I’m now on Instagram daily, the community is really kind and as it’s worldwide there’s likes and comments all around the clock.

I joined in lockdown, September 2020, I made a Jurassic Park from Lego, so I made a reel which now has 10k views, which blows my mind!
I am always out and about, I like walking and live near beaches and woodland so quite often the ideas are all around and I just supply the Lego.

My favourite ever set was the Diner modular, I just love the food and music combinations and the colours are great. I also then had to get a light kit for it which started my Lego street.

My favourite fig is probably Dr Malcolm from Jurassic Park, he’s very cool. I have so many figs, at a guess it would be around 300.

I’d like to either build a Lego clock tower from back to the future. Or, a Lego National lampoons Christmas vacation house, I’ve seen both of these done and I’d love to have the knowledge and time to build them.

I’ve been Lego Windsor which was fun, although very busy. The underwater submarine was worth the hour queue!
My favourite theme is movie ideas, so back to the future, home alone, ghostbusters. Those kind of ideas that come through.

My first set was a Lego fire station from the 80’s, I still have it made although I’ve replaced the garage doors as they didn’t age too well.

I’ve found everyone so welcoming and kind. The support really helps with confidence.
