Interview with @toyingwithlight

Where are you from?
Canada (currently living in Kingston, Ontario).

Describe your account in 3 words?
Playful, creative, fun.
What made you start an instagram page?
Of all things, COVID-19. My LEGO photography came about due to spending much more time at home than I had in years.

How often are you on instagram?
Daily. I usually post in the morning, and then follow up from time to time during the day.

How long have you been doing your account for?
A little over a year and a half now, beginning in November 2020.

Where do you get your ideas from?
Most often from things that I enjoy: books, movies, music, GenX pop culture.
Whats your favourite lego set that you own?
The Star Wars Mos Eisley Cantina - so much nostalgia for me, and so many great minifigures!

Whos your favourite minifigure?
Oh man, that’s tough. I’ll say Darth Vader, given how many of my favourite shots include him.
How many minifigures do you own?
First thought: a couple hundred? Upon further reflection: probably much more than I realize!

If you could build anything out of lego what would it be?
Minas Tirith, from Tolkien’s Middle Easth.

Have you ever been to lego land? (if yes which one)
LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Toronto

Whats your favourite lego theme?
For photography, Collectible Minifigures. But I own more Star Wars than anything else. And I admire many (if not most) of the LEGO Ideas sets.
What was your first ever lego set?
An early 80s Space set - I can’t remember exactly which one…
