Interview with @alexandre_coelho22

Hello everyone. My name is Pedro Alexandre! I’m 35, I’m a proud father of a small 3 years old "grasshopper", I work in a Free Time Activities place for kids in a primary school and in my very small spare time I create props and scenarios to take photos with LEGO minifigures.
Where are you from?
I'm from a little place bathed by the Atlantic Ocean called Praia da Barra in Aveiro - Portugal!

Describe your account in 3 words?
Sighs Of Creativity

What made you start an instagram page?
Well, I was affectionate by photography since I was young. I've bought my first camera when I was 18 and I basically took pictures to everything! The years were passing and the cameras were getting more still. But in 2010...I went with my brother to a LEGO encounter in a nearby city and I've bought the first minifigure of my collection. In 2017, I had already a few others minifigures and I don't really remember what I was looking on google, but appeared some toys photography’s. So...I had the cameras and I had the minifigures...puffff...let's try!
How often are you on instagram?
I go to Instagram every day, but I try not to spend too much time, except at Saturday’s or Sunday’s, which is when I usually do my weekly publication.

How long have you been doing your account for?
I've started my account in 2017, but I've only started to make regular publications about an year and a half.

Where do you get your ideas from?
Normally, in the first days of the week, I grab the boxes where I have my minifigures and I make a little mental exercise, watching to the minifigures and thinking: "With you, I could do...". Nowadays, there are also some IG accounts that promote regular challenges and that helps a lot when I don't have ideas.
Whats your favourite lego set that you own?
Probably...the Harley-Davidson, Fat Boy!

Whos your favourite minifigure?
I'm not an a addicted on Star Wars, by the way, I think that the only set that I have from this theme is the Millennium Falcon Microfighter. But, I don't know precisely why, I love the Stormtrooper minifigure!

How many minifigures do you own?
Around 400.

If you could build anything out of lego what would it be?
I would love to build a scale model of the traditional boat from my city, the Moliceiro or of the biggest lighthouse of Portugal (that I can see from my house window), with a functional rotating light. If you don't know them, make a quick search online. You will love them.
Have you ever been to lego land? (if yes which one)
Nope…unfortunately no!

Whats your favourite lego theme?
This one is difficult. I would say...Harry Potter.

What was your first ever lego set?
I could be wrong, but I think that was the LEGO Space Police set 6895 Spy-Trak 1, from 1989.

todays interview with @garloh_around_the_world

Hi,
I'm from Valdobbiadene, a small village in the Northern Italy (near Venice) famous for wine production.

I'd like to describe my account as funny, humoristic, for all (because of the theme and the quality of the pictures). In fact I want to share the message that everybody can become a Lego photographer.
I opened my page in 2020 during the first quarantine: I had in mind this idea to connect Lego and photography and finally had enough time to do that. And during that period I grew up a lot as instagrammer and as photographer.
At first the idea was to share the adventures of my small minifig, but than while growing the city, I started to shot my city too and other minifigs.

I try to publish at least three times per week, but I'm daily active to chat with new friends, leave a like, comment and share posts. I had the chance to meet many people from all over the world and even physically meet some.
I get ideas from "the real world": by looking around, taking inspiration by watching a film... it even depends on the day: Is it a sunny day? Let's shot outdoor! Is it raining? Better stay inside and build up a small set with a single minifig.

My favourite set is the new police station 10278: I also received a light kit for free to test it and this gave a brilliant new light to the building 😍

Whos your favourite minifigure?
Ohhh, I have many... but if I have to choose only one: the graduate, because it really represents me, my studies and my life.

How many minifigures do you own?
My city has a population of more than 400. between registered and not 🤣

My dream is to build a hospital in modular building style: I'd love to fit it in the city. At the moment in fact I'm missing a hospital and don't know how to heal my minifigs!
Have you been to legoland?
Yes, I've been once in 2018 in Billund. It was my bachelor degree present 😍

My fave Lego theme is the Creator Expert line with modular buildings: looking forward the Boutique Hotel. But I also like the City theme for the small details to add in the city.

My very first set was the police station 2005 7237: I still have it built and in the city. I'll never break it down because it's a part of my childhood.

Todays interview with @the_lego_shed

Hi.. I’m Michael, as my bio says I’m trying to cram as much Lego into my shed as I possibly can! The main themes that I focus on are Modular Buildings, Star Wars and Harry Potter.
Where are you from?

I’m from the UK and I’m fortunate to have a Lego store 10 minutes down the road.

Describe your account in 3 words?

A Lego Shed!

What made you start an instagram page?

Wanted to show off my Lego sets and connect with like minded fans.

How often are you on instagram?

I try to post daily.

How long have you been doing your account for?

I started around 5 years ago but didn’t used to post a lot. During Lockdown Super Lego Dad and May The Lego Be With You did a daily challenge and I got involved with that and met some great fans of Lego. After they stopped that, I carried on doing Daily Posts and I’m really enjoying it!
Where do you get your ideas from?

Normally see what other people are doing and get involved with challenges and events as they’re a great way to connect with people.

Whats your favourite lego set that you own?

Difficult to say but probably either the Ghostbusters Firehouse or Pirates of Barracuda Bay.

Who’s your favourite minifigure?

Captain Redbeard. I had him in a set when I was younger and then got him in the Pirates of Barracuda Set.

How many minifigures do you own?

According to Brickset it’s just over 900!

If you could build anything out of lego what would it be?

Avengers Tower as that would look awesome in my city so I’m hoping the rumours about it are true.

Have you ever been to lego land? (if yes which one)

Yes I’ve been to Legoland Windsor twice and we’re planning another trip soon.

Whats your favourite lego theme?

Creator Expert and the Modular Buildings. But I’d love to see a return of the Pirates and Castles theme.

What was your first ever lego set?

I remember having the Ice Planet Defender. The first set after my “Dark Ages” was the Space Needle which my wife got for me when we visited Seattle so I blame her for getting me back into Lego 😂
Which sets are you looking forward to?

Hoping to get the Sancto Sanctorum to add to my city and the new Ideas castle.

Which set do you regret not buying?

The Ideas Old Fishing Store. The frustrating thing is that I was back into Lego when it was released but didn’t understand when sets retired and missed out.

interview with @brickandmortarlego

I’m Matt, from the east coast of the UK.

My account in 3 words? Fun, happy and welcoming.
I had a personal account which wasn’t very interactive when it came to my Lego posts, so I hoped to find some like minded people, turns out I found loads!

I’m now on Instagram daily, the community is really kind and as it’s worldwide there’s likes and comments all around the clock.

I joined in lockdown, September 2020, I made a Jurassic Park from Lego, so I made a reel which now has 10k views, which blows my mind!
I am always out and about, I like walking and live near beaches and woodland so quite often the ideas are all around and I just supply the Lego.

My favourite ever set was the Diner modular, I just love the food and music combinations and the colours are great. I also then had to get a light kit for it which started my Lego street.

My favourite fig is probably Dr Malcolm from Jurassic Park, he’s very cool. I have so many figs, at a guess it would be around 300.

I’d like to either build a Lego clock tower from back to the future. Or, a Lego National lampoons Christmas vacation house, I’ve seen both of these done and I’d love to have the knowledge and time to build them.

I’ve been Lego Windsor which was fun, although very busy. The underwater submarine was worth the hour queue!
My favourite theme is movie ideas, so back to the future, home alone, ghostbusters. Those kind of ideas that come through.

My first set was a Lego fire station from the 80’s, I still have it made although I’ve replaced the garage doors as they didn’t age too well.

I’ve found everyone so welcoming and kind. The support really helps with confidence.
