interview with 80s lego spaceman

Name- 80s Lego spaceman

Tell us about yourself.

My name is Robert. Born in the 70’s and as far as toys go I’m kind of stuck in the 80,s.

Where are you from?

I live in, and have lived my whole life in or in the suburbs of Stockholm, Sweden.

Describe your account in 3 words?

Classic - Space - Fun

What made you start an Instagram page?

Good question! I wasn’t really looking for another hobby. But I have had these Classic Space LEGO sets for a long time and I always enjoyed toy photography. I bought the boards to use as a classic space backdrop years and years ago but only recently had the Impulse to actually build a scene.

How often are you on Instagram?

Too often. Constantly.

How long have you been doing your account for?

A month or so at this point.

Where do you get your ideas from?

It’s clearly the old LEGOLAND promo pictures and I sprinkle some of my favorite movies in to the mix.

What's your favourite Lego set that you own?

Oooh… difficult question. I am a huge Star Wars fan and if you ask me today I choose the 4483 AT-AT, which I still think is the ultimate AT-AT. Ask me again tomorrow and I may choose something else.

Who's your favourite minifigure?

I have to choose the white Classic Spaceman. A true icon.

How many minifigures do you own?

I have no idea. I do not collect them specifically.

If you could build anything out of Lego what would it be?

I’m dreaming of building my hometown in micro scale, that would be cool. But where the heck would I keep it?

Have you ever been to Lego land? (if yes which one)

Yes! Sweden is close to Denmark so I have been to Billund three or four times over the years. And I was fortunate to visit Windsor park a few years ago.

What's your favourite Lego theme?

I love the Classic SPACE line as you may have guessed. 79 to 83 specifically.

What was your first ever Lego set?

I don’t remember. I have older siblings so LEGO was always around and I was always the kind of kid that build the kit once played a bit and then broke it up and built my own things.
